A specialty of the Darkwater Brand trading coster in Archendale, the Vilku Bruņas (Armor of the Wolf) is often sought out by young mages facing dangerous straits. A plain, serviceable cuirass of black, water-hardened leather, reinforced with bronze studs; the Vilku Bruņas is woven with magics that enhance the wearer’s life force and memory, enabling the wearer to remain in a fight longer.

Vilku Bruņas protects the wearer as does a normal, non-magical suit of Studded Leather. Because of its judicious avoidance of ferrous or heavy metals in its construction, the Vilku Bruņas does not impede a wizards ability to cast spells in any way.

The magics imbued in the armor are two-fold.

First, if the wearer has the ability to cast spells, the wearer gains 1 additional daily spell slot of 1st level. In order to use this additional spell, the armor must be when he prepares his daily spells. If the armor is removed, any extra prepared spells are immediately lost (though they may be prepared again the next day if the armor is worn).

Secondly, the armor bestows the wearer with 10 additional hit points. As with other sources of temporary hit points, any damage dealt to the wearer is taken from these hit points first. These hit points renew themselves each day at dawn and are not subject to normal or magical healing. If the armor is removed before the additional hit points have been expended, any remaining temporary hit points are lost.
