Description:
A simple wooden practice sword, carved from deep-red pieropod wood, with a piece of dark hematite set in the hand-carved grip. When wielded in combat, it functions as a non-magical bokken for all purposes.
When the command word is spoken, the bokken enables the wielder to influence the behavior of vegetable life forms within 90 yards. This includes normal plants and fungi, molds, and animate plants such as shambling mounds. The wielder can cause the vegetable forms to remain still or silent, move, or entwine, according to their limits and abilities. Vegetable monsters with Intelligence of 5 or higher are entitled to a saving throw vs. spell. Self-destructive control is not directly possible if the plants are intelligent (see charm plants spell).
Any number of plants can be controlled, subject to the limitations set forth above. For each 10-square-foot area of plants controlled, one charge is used per turn of control.
The weapon currently has 13 charges remaining.
