Activating the device requires two simultaneous Locksmithing or Clockwork creation checks from two different people. If one check fails, the device becomes inert and useless. If both checks fail, the device detonates immediately. If the checks succeed, the device is armed. It can be set with a timer of up to 1 hour, in 1 minute increments.

When the device detonates, it affects everything within a 40-ft. radius centered on itself as per the wizard spell Transmute Rock to Mud.
